After graduating from Clark University, I spent a year working as a mental health worker at Worcester State Hospital in Worcester, MA, one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in the United States. After completing my graduate training at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, I went on to work at Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center in Los Angeles. I worked in the Residential Treatment Division and was a member of a grant writing team that was successful in obtaining funding for a number of residential treatment programs in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. I moved into the private sector when I moved to Riverside County. From 1989-2000, I maintained offices in Corona and Temecula. I was on the Clinical Staff at Charter Hospital of Corona where I had admitting privileges, treated patients while they were in the hospital, and facilitated groups for the inpatient units and the partial hospitalization program. I have been an adjunct professor at California State University, San Bernardino in their graduate program, where I designed and taught a course titled Theory and Practice of Group Counseling. Since 2000, I have centralized my practice to my office in Temecula. I frequently speak to professional groups and associations. I am a founding member of the Southwest Riverside County Chapter of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) and was the Chapter President in 2011, 2012 and 2019. I have also been designated as a Subject Matter Expert by the Board of Behavioral Sciences which is the licensing board for Marriage and Family Therapists in the State of California. I am regularly invited to participate in workshops in Sacramento to help with item writing and construction of the California Law & Ethics Examination and the Clinical Examination, as well as formulating the passing score protocols for these exams for candidates applying for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists.
